At Bátor Tábor children are refilled with positive energies that were taken away from them by their illnesses.” /Peti, 15-year-old camper/ The recently passed Academy Award winning actor, Paul Newman, dreamed of opening a camp for children with serious medical conditions. More than 20 years ago, his dream became a reality and he opened the first Hole in the Wall Camp in Connecticut, USA. This camp became the base of the international camp association (Serious Fun Children's Network), which includes organizations that offer therapeutic recreation camps for children with serious medical conditions all over the world (always free of charge). Bator Tabor is part of the umbrella network since 2007. Every year, hundreds of volunteers help the dreams of the Bator Tabor campers come true. They allow the children to experience the joys of childhood as they regain self-confidence and restore hope for the future. I have spent more then 6 years and many summer sessions with these kids working as a volunteer. This year haven’t got ten days to donate for the cause but have ten kilometres instead. With my charity run my target is to raise HUF 150 000 (Euro 500). The target certainly can be overachieved.:) Please stand by me, sponsor my run. Together we reach further!
