My name is Borka Loboda-Lencsés, I am 8 and a half years old. I am an elementary school student in Budapest, Hungary. I am a third grader at the French Faculty of my school. I start learning to play piano this month. I have a black cat, his name is Miska. When there is no school, I love to ride horses. My favorite place is home. My favorite food is pancakes which I make all by myself.
I have already participated at the charity running of Bátor Tábor for the last 2 years as a sponsor of my Mum and as a cheerleader. My Mum ran the marathon race in relay with her co-workers for Bátor Tábor, her camp. I love being at camp because of the great programs. I do the running at the race and Mum does the fundraising part so the seroiusly ill campers don’t have to pay for camp.
Mum wrote a little explanation for you:
Borkas was 2 years old when I started to work for Bator Tabor charity: a therapeutic camp for seriously ill children in Hungary. My job was to launch the international program and recruit campers from abroad to our international oncology sessions. Now Borka is nearly 9 years old and over the past 7 years, she was surrounded by charity values, friends and way of living harmonising with camp’s spirit.
I like to think that these values and good people around us support her personality and development.
She is taking the preparation for running very seriously, I never had to beg her for training. My job covers the training and the fundraising part which is a challenge for me too as it is the first time I am raising the amount alone, not in a relay team. I also hope that Borka’s self confidence will increase with this commitment, just as it happens at camp with our campers.
Please contribute to this achievement. It will be highly appreciated.
