Oslo Marathon / Marathon Relay
Everyone has a calling in life, some want to fly planes, other to travel the world. I’m still young and unsure of what I want in my life, in terms of a career, but one thing I’m sure of is that i want to help other in need, those who are less fortunate than me.
Sometimes I get a sense of hopelessness, but opportunities like these light that sparkle of hope again. It’s not often one can or is given the opportunity to help other doing something they love.
This time I was privileged enough to be so lucky, and not only run for my self, but for a bigger cause, helping others. I feel like this was the push and inspiration I was needing to be able to run as far as I can.
I started running when I was about 12, but it wasn’t until i turned 16 that i started taking it more seriously and running further and further, my personal record now is of 26 km in 2 hours and 32 minutes, I also ran 10 km in 46 minutes. What I want now is to be able to run a Marathon, and this project was a really important push that i was needing to be able to injure all of the long daily training.
I can now say that I’m ready to run 42 kilometers and I’m happy to say that it has a big to do with the cause of helping these kids that were not as lucky as me, but that still are fighting to live their daily lives which we many times take for granted. This is an eye opening experience. Its an honor to be doing this for a bigger cause, for once and not just for our self.
